NINTH NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF THEATER IN ACADEME

WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY

 

 

MARCH 13-15, 2008

 

          The aim of this symposium is to gather University and College teachers and Scholars who have been involved in theater productions with their students, who have a particular interest in combining the teaching of language and literature with acting or practical aspects of the dramatic genre, and who are engaged in the teaching and practice of theater with the purpose of initiating social change, and of raising consciousness about political and social issues dealing with gender, class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation.  You are invited to submit papers on any of the following suggested topics.  Papers should be in English and should not exceed 20 minutes of reading time.  Participants are also encouraged to present any audio-visual materials that would be relevant to their presentation (ex: videos of plays, slides, etc.) as well as combine their theoretical findings with live representations.
